It does seem simple, but if done right, you'll probably gonna daydream about it.
So here we were, at Berowra Waters, without bringing any camera apart from the phone's built-in. This is going to be a different post compared to my recent ones; a break from my obsession of Asian cuisine and the first post with photos taken by the phone.
Let me just say one thing, the scenery of the lake is almost breathtaking. Green hills surroundings, with some splashing sound from the direction of the lake, where boats are parked and some canoes are happily brought out by families to soak some vitamin D.

The air doesn't smell really fishy or salty, it's the kind of fresh air that is much needed from my everyday uni life in bustling CBD area. We were there for the Fish Café, whose entry isn't that easy to find, but ask around the question 'where is the fish & chips place?' and you'll find fingers pointing out to the same direction.

Once you see the fish-bone logo, you are at the right place. There are some seatings outdoor which you may find really delightful, because it's all about soaking up the sun and looking towards the scenery. There are also some indoor seatings, but I noticed that the outdoor one is more preferred.

The menu is not that extensive, it's revolving around seafood, chips, and salad. But that's what we were there for.
I got my first taste of Bert's Creaming Soda, which is packed so highly with carbonated soda that your tongue (or even your whole mouth) may be left tingling for a few minutes.

Sharing is caring, right? The BBQ seafood platter is a perfect choice to serve this motto. It consists of grilled fish, mussels, prawns, calamari, baby octopus, and scallop. My favourite is.. everything. Really, I couldn't choose which one is the best one as they are all just cooked and seasoned perfectly.
Of course, there are some chunky chips and simple salad dressed with balsamic vinegar, and two small tubs of tar tar dipping sauce.

The flathead, chips, and salad is self-explanatory, and was ordered because we couldn't go to fish & chips place without ordering some deep fried. We got exactly what we thought we would, only better. The flathead's crumbing is light and so crunchy. It's not oily, and the flesh tastes fresh.

I heard they make good burgers too, which I'll keep in mind for my next visit.
The deck just beside the restaurant is a good place to stroll around after your meal, where some fishermen are waiting to get their baits bitten. Go out there on a sunny winter day, it'll be a great outing day, I reckon.
