Miscellaneous Eats #2

How's June for you guys?

It's been chilly here, the winter is definitely on the door. June has been such an interesting month for me. It started emotionally and finished emotionally as well. There was so much fun in June, new experiences and delicious food.

So this is it again, few of the food I consume in June.

1. Homemade mapo tofu with rice

Perfect comfort food. The tofu is silky smooth, combined with tasty mince and thick gravy. Slice some bird eye chillies and you are all set.

2. Coles' cranberry and white chocolate cookies

I didn't know Coles has awesome cookies on the selves. These cranberry and white chocolate cookies are huge and chewy in the middle, so worth fighting over.

3. Choux pastry and chocolate ganache cake

I don't really know the exact name nor the place where the aunt's friend bought this decadence. All I know that I can't stop eating and licking it.

The cake is actually some big choux pastry with custard filling shaped like a pyramid, enveloped generously by chocolate mousse/ganache. The hero for me is the chocolate mousse. It's so chocolatey and rich, almost gelato-like.

4. Homemade stir fried egg noodles with beef stroganoff

It was just another there-is-nothing-on-the-fridge-I-will-stir-fry-something day. So I was lucky to find some cold beef stroganoff and stir fried it with Hokkien egg noodles. Extra chilli powder on the top. Yum.

5. Chocolate daifuku

Bought this on the Japanese sushi shop nearby uni whose name I forgot. It's pretty much like mochi, only with creamier and chocolatey filling. And it's flour dusting not icing sugar.

6. Homemade grilled toast & banana with chocolate rice and cheese

I was hungry and craving the good old chocolate rice (Ceres) sandwich. I don't know what I was thinking but I got a steamed banana and tried to grill it with cheese on top. I may have lost my mind. It tastes okay but still a bit weird.

7. Homemade chocolate cake

It was the last class of the semester and on eof the friend brought her homemade chocolate cake, complete with chocolate icing. We all love friends with food, don't we?

The chocolate cake is moist and quite rich, but the icing is a bit runny and not as rich as I hoped. But that's fine, she's awesome still.

8. Cadburry 'Marvellous Creations'

How quirky is this? I'm all game for chocolate with popping candy and beanies and jellies. My preference falls with the one with jellies and Crunchie bits, as I found that popping candy in chocolate doesn't really work for my tongue. It's so much fun eating them though.

So did you guys eat delicious food this month? Do share!
